Meet Lisa Roers

Lisa’s heart desire is to use all God has given her to point people back to Him, and praise His name. In light of this, joining Sweetwater Revival is nothing less than an answer to prayer, and Lisa is over-the-top excited to be sharing God’s truths through the ministry of song with the other exceptional ladies in this quartet! 
Native to Minnesota, Lisa spent many of her younger years in Northern Minnesota, singing and playing piano at her community church, and participating in all the musical 
opportunities open to her throughout high school. Over the years, Lisa picked up various instruments in addition to voice and piano, including flute and tin whistles.  She also enjoys the challenge of honing her skills on the djembe, guitar, ukulele, 
saxophone, and who knows what may be next! While performing was always a passion for Lisa, it was clear that composing music would also be a huge part of her heart to 
serve God. One of Lisa’s first compositions, written at age 5, won 2nd place in the Minnesota Music Composers Contest, which only encouraged her to write more. 
In 2000, Lisa released her first solo CD (Creation Audio, Maui) with 10 original compositions and arrangements. Her 2nd solo CD was released in 2007 (Paul Peterson, Minneapolis) and includes 11 original contemporary Christian titles. 
Lisa graduated from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, and focused her other career on business and technology. She currently works in operations at a technology company in Minneapolis, MN. In 2008, she married the love of her life, John, and they have one son, Davy.

sing with these amazing women from Sweetwater Revival, and so excited to meet you, sing for you and with you, and worship together the living God, our Lord and Savior,

A little more about Lisa… 
Favorite hobbies: home do-it-yourself (DIY) projects and design, organizing EVERYthing!, gardening, knitting/crocheting, biking, technology, and learning new instruments! 
Favorite hymn: I have always loved the hymn “The Old Rugged Cross.” While the cross has become so commonplace these days on clothing and jewelry, I like that the hymn 
reminds us all that the cross truly was an “emblem of suffering and shame.” Also, the chorus reminds me that no matter what “trophies” or accomplishments I might acquire here on Earth, each will pale in comparison to the rich love, mercy, grace and sacrifice offered me by my Savior Jesus. Praise be to God! 
My Husband: While we only lived about 7 miles apart, we traveled to the other side of the world to meet! It was a missions trip with music ministry to Africa where we 
actually met and got to know each other. He, too, is a musician - and an amazing one at that! What a joy it is to be able to worship together, to sing together and walk in our 
faith together as a team. Sharing life with this Godly man is a joy far beyond what I ever dreamed or imagined. 
Things most people wouldn’t guess of me: I really do love the do-it-yourself projects and organizing a home (drawers, closets, and shelves) for the most efficient and productive use of space! I’ve taken on projects such as hanging drywall (yes, 
including mudding and taping), tiling and grouting, and felling a few trees with my chainsaw just to name a few. I’ve also served as an Ambassador for the State of MN, traveling to meet other ambassadors from Japan and Australia, and touring various 
locations within the United States, speaking on behalf of our State and its commerce and industry. With all of that said, I guess I like to consider myself a true flannel to formal kind of gal!

Zephaniah 3:17 - “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” 
Timothy 1:7 - “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 
Psalm 59:17 - “You are my strength, I sing praise to You; You, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.”
